Hubert Nakitare, better known by his stage name Nonini, has found himself embroiled in controversy surrounding his latest music video for the track ‘Hustle Clean’.

Nonini revealed that the original video for ‘Hustle Clean’ was shot in Kenya but encountered difficulties when the producer refused to hand over the footage. This led to the decision to reshoot the video abroad, with Miami, United States, being the chosen location.

Explaining the absence of his collaborator Michelle Bisonga in the video, Nonini disclosed that the entire shoot had to be redone in Miami after the producer in Kenya declined to release the footage.

“Believe it or not, I shot this video in Kenya in December, but my producer refused to hand over the footage, so I had to reshoot it in Miami. That’s why Michelle Bisonga is not in this version, as she has retained her footage,” Nonini explained.

The new video, directed by Hussein Njoroge, showcases Nonini traveling in a jeep and exploring the serene beaches of Miami. However, Michelle Bisonga, who features prominently in the song, was notably absent from the reshoot.

Responding to inquiries from fans about the actions taken against the previous video’s producer, Nonini assured that he would address the matter and prevent such misconduct from recurring.

“But mark my words, this will be the last time someone sabotages another person’s livelihood…” Nonini pledged. The video has already garnered significant attention, amassing over one hundred thousand views in under two days.

In addition to addressing the video controversy, Nonini is gearing up for a summer tour across various cities in Canada. Scheduled performances include Toronto on June 15, Calgary on June 29, and Vancouver on June 30.
