The outspoken, controversial Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has come forward to give his reasons why Deputy President should continue being in Government despite his falling out with the President.

On Monday, President Uhuru Kenyatta called out his deputy asking him to resign on national TV.

“The honorable thing is that if you are not happy with it, Step aside and allow those who want to move on to do so and take your agenda to the people,” President Uhuru Kenyatta said in part.

However, this is not what Ngunjiri –who believes Jubilee has the number to impeach Deputy President if they wanted to– wants who opened up about the impeachment of Deputy President William Samoei Ruto. Ngunjiri doesn’t want the DP to get impeached at all.

“TO IMPEACH OR NOT TO IMPEACH RUTO. My thoughts. If we needed to do it, we could; easily. We have proven that when we need numbers, we always get them.

But do we need to? No,” Ngunjiri shared on social media.

The Nyeri Town Member of Parliament criticized the DP for openly criticizing the Jubilee government that he’s a part of to adding that the way he’s reacting is making him to be a, “a two-faced, unprincipled and untrustworthy politician, who cannot be entrusted with the office of President”

Ngunjiri says that for one to be a President, one needs to be ready and willing to lose something to gain something, and most importantly, one must be able to stand for something.

“The more Ruto continues operating as a DP who is undermining, sabotaging and mudslinging the very government who’s perks and benefits he continues to enjoy; the more he comes forth as a two-faced, unprincipled and untrustworthy politician, who cannot be entrusted with the office of President.

To be President one must be principled. You must stand for something. You can’t be in opposition and government. You can’t be in UDA and Jubilee. You can’t be against Govt and for it. You can’t speak from both sides of your mouth. You must also be willing to lose something, to gain something. You can’t eat your cake, and still want to have it too,” Ngunjiri added.
