Singer Ne-Yo was divorced by his wife Crystal Renay Williams after he cheated on her and twice impregnated his side chick Sade.
Ne-Yo is now asking a court to grant him legal custody of his two sons whom he sired out of wedlock.
The RnB crooner asked a court to establish himself as the father of the two children he shares with his ex-side chick Sade.
The 43-year-old fathered his sons Braiden (born in 2021) and Brixton (born in February 2023) with Sade outside of his marriage, while he was still married to ex-wife Crystal Renay Williams.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Ne-Yo is asking the court to grant him joint legal and physical custody of his youngest sons.
It is reported that that the ‘Miss Independent’ hitmaker is hoping Braiden and Braxton will be eligible to inherit from him as if they were born in wedlock.
Ne-Yo’s relationship with Sade was the main factor in breakdown of his marriage to Crystal, who filed for divorce in 2022.
Crystal filed the divorce on learning that Ne-Yo’s side chick was pregnant for him for the second time.
In divorce papers, Crystal stated that the singer had fathered a child outside of their marriage. The divorce was finalised in January 2023 and in February Sade gave birth to Ne-Yo’s second child.
Ne-Yo shares sons Shaffer, seven, and Roman, four, and daughter, Isabella, one, with Crystal.
He is also father to two children from his relationship with ex-girlfriend Monyetta Shaw; Madilyn, 12, and Mason, 11.
Ne-Yo is paying Crystal $12,000/Ksh1.6 million per month in child support and will pay for their three children’s’ tuition fees.
He also agreed to pay his ex-wife a lump sum of $1.6 million/Ksh218 million.
Last month, Ne-Yo told TMZ he was ‘enjoying the single life’ and that he and Sade are not exclusively attached.
“I’m in a space where I’m happy, I’m in a happy place so I’m dating now, I don’t give a damn. I’m moving around, I’m enjoying the single life,” Ne-Yo said.
