The annual Nyege Nyege Festival is going down and Kenya’s rapper Nazizi Hirji is among international act lined up for the four-day music carnival.
For starters, Nyege Nyege Festival is one of the most popular music events in East Africa. The festival gained some notoriety in the press and was temporarily canceled in 2018 by Minister for Ethics and Integrity – Fr Simon Lokodo who claimed that it tore into Uganda’s moral fabric.
Started in 2015, Nyege Nyege Festival has risen to be one of the most important international music festivals in East Africa thanks to the sheer number of revelers who turn up for the festival.
This year’s Nyege Nyege festival runs from 5th of September to the 8th, the festival will be held at Nile Discovery Beach in Jinja town.
Kenya’s Nazizi is among international act selected to perform at the 4-day festival. The rapper will be performing on Sunday 8th September.
