Naomi Osaka has welcomed her first child with boyfriend and rapper Cordae Dunston.
A source close to the athlete revealed on Tuesday that Osaka gave birth to her daughter at a hospital in Los Angeles and that the new family is doing well.
The Japanese-American tennis ace announced in January that she was pregnant.
Osaka shared pictures of her baby’s ultrasound. She also wrote in the caption, “Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023.”
The tennis star expressed her excitement about being a mother, stating that she would return to the court at the 2024 Australian Open.
“I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘That’s my mom’, haha. 2023 will be a year that’ll be full of lessons for me and I hope I’ll see you guys at the start of the next one cause I’ll be at Aus 2024. Love you all infinitely,” she wrote in the post.
Speaking with People in April, Osaka said the new parents were still deliberating on names for the baby but would be going for “something more unique than traditional.”
Osaka held a baby shower in June where she revealed to fans she was having a baby girl.
