For starters, Nameless shot to fame in 1999. That year, a budding artiste and University of Nairobi student – Nameless entered a star-search contest hosted by Muthoni Bwika on Capital FM and went on to win it with his original composition ‘Megarider’.

In April 2019, Nameless featured Khaligraph Jones to drop ‘Megarider’ remix while celebrating 20 years in the industry. He opted to drop a remix of the song that propelled him to greatness as a musician.

So why does Nameless still create a significant impression in the music industry when many musicians have come and gone? Nameless’ secret is in his lyrics.

The veteran musician says that he has managed to stay relevant in music industry because he always strives for longevity when composing his songs.

“When you are creating music, you can use different tactics to reach the people to get an instant intense reaction. Other times you use tactics that can provoke a reaction that will withstand the test of time and capture people’s attention,” said Nameless during an interview with Word Is.

Adding that;

“I always keep it simple, such that in 10 years, one can relate to the song or lyrics. Sometimes I stay for long before I write a song and people may wonder why. It is because I listen to it on different occasions and ask myself if I achieved the intended intention. My aim is always longevity. I do not release songs too soon so often because staki watu wazoee sana.
