Nadia Nakai has been in the rap game for a while now and she has been able to achieve some accolades that most of her predecessors have not been able to achieve in their lengthy careers making her one of a kind rap artiste thus far.
Nadia Nakai who is officially known by her loyal fans globally as Bragga has proved yet again that she’s indeed the African rap queen and with her latest project release dubbed ‘Nadia Naked’ there’s nobody who can deny that she is indeed a rap queen.
The Family Tree signed artiste has a song for everybody in her album, be it for the hip hop heads, for the lonely, for the loved ones, for those who love to turn up, for women who have had their hearts broken, Nadia Nakai has just a remedy for you through her records inside the highly anticipated album that dropped a couple of days back.
Me being a hip hop head myself and a lover of music in general, got to admit that I have listened to the full album three times.
I have listened to the album in Spotify, Deezer, and Apple Music with a promise of listening to the album once again on Tidal and Amazon music because this album -for lack of a better deserving word- is a classic and it will forever be considered a classic hip hop album meaning that in 2082 it will still be as relevant as it is today.
“top ten
am not ten
am top one
look at my scoring
I told my n*ggas we got one
I see the shade they throwing
but you can’t block sun
I shine so bright
that I even glow in the dark son
the stadiums are sold out
the merchandise is sold out
I did it all in two weeks
I did it with no roll-out
you b*tches need to slow down”
I can’t speak for you but this album is one of a kind, you have to listen to it to believe me though, it’s versatile, diverse and well curated, it’s hip hop to its core and if Ye and/or Hova got to have a listen to this album, there’s a high chance she’ll be on their radar, no doubt. Nadia Nakai outdid herself on this album I got to say.
Hip hop is in safe hands, especially if the queen is none other than Nadia Nakai with one of her titles being the bringer of the phenomenal, out of this world ‘Nadia Naked’ album which portrays herself being comfortable in her own skin.
If anything else, the cover art represents the perfect embodiment of a black African woman who loves and is proud of her melanin body and everything else that comes with being a black woman today. Everything about this album was just perfect, it was a well thought project that was due in the hip hop realm.
In the album Nadia Nakai features Cassper Nyovest in two records in ‘Naaa Mean’ and ‘Chankura’, Khuli Chana, Kwesta, Sio, Tshego, Lady Zamar and Ycee, with a special shout out coming from the English based rapper who happens to be Burna Boy’s girlfriend Stefflon Don who calls her the baddest female rapper from Africa.
