Nadia Nakai once said, “Magazine covers we the issue” on her record ‘Naaa Meeaan’ with her boss, Cassper Nyovest a few months back and she meant every bit of it. She is now on the September issue of Glamour South Africa making her not only the first female rapper but the first rapper to get featured on the coveted magazine. She just made history.
Nadia Nakai who is also known as Bragga has been winning in absolutely everything she does musically ever since she got signed to Cassper Nyovest’s record label Family Tree.
Nadia Nakai shared the cover with activist, Thando Hopa who is also a Lawyer and a model together with the new Glamour magazine’s new Editor-in-Chief, Asanda Sizani who together with Nadia, made history to become not only the first black woman to be the Editor-in-Chief but the first black Editor-in-Chief for Glamour Magazine ever.
“I understand the significance of this moment being the first black editor-in-chief of this international brand… I have a responsibility as the first black editor to make a positive impact. To be someone that will hopefully inspire black and brown girls and boys out there, from different backgrounds who had to fight to get their voices, heard in creative industries and to create platforms to open doors of opportunity for other people” the 33-year-old Glamour editor-in-chief Asanda Sizani said.
“Behind every successful woman, is a tribe of women ready to support you.”- what a powerful message Nadia Nakai passed across
This issue of Glamour really perpetuates women empowerment that we all love to see but what’s important is that Nadia “Bragga” Nakai has forever changed the hip-hop industry as we know it as being the first rapper to be on the cover of the coveted Glamour Magazine issue and nobody can ever take that away from her, ever!
More reason to join the team Bragga. She’s winning and we love it as much as she does
“Magazine covers we the issue!!! Shout you to Nadia for being part of this!!!” super ecstatic Cassper Nyovest posted this on his Instagram, happy of Nadia Nakai’s career accomplishments and being a part of the cover for Glamour Magazine.
Asanda Sizani also made history as being the first black editor-in-chief.
