Mwana FA, whose real name is Khamis Mwinjuma, has announced that he is taking a break from his music career to focus on his political career.

The legendary rapper was recently elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Muheza constituency in the recently concluded Tanzania general election.

MwanaFA, who was running on ruling CCM party ticket, clinched Muheza constituency parliamentary seat after flooring opposition Chadema candidate Yosepher Komba, who garnered 12,034 against his 47,578 votes.

Speaking during an interview on Wasafi FM, MwanaFA said that he will be taking an indefinite break from music to concentrate on delivering his election promises to the people of Muheza constituency.

“‘The biggest issue on my table now is thinking on how I will work for my people who believed in me and voted me in. I have a very huge debt which I need to pay up as I had promised that I will bring changes once elected. As for my music, I know it will not take me long to hit the studio but for now I will take a break and embark on it later on,” said MwanaFA.

MwanaFA also gave his views on fellow artistes Professor Jay and Sugu who lost their seats in the general election.

He said that he felt sorry for them for their loses and went on to encourage them to quit the opposition party and join CCM.

“I really wish that they were in CCM so that we could be together, even now. I would love if they joined a better party like ours, a party with vision,” said MwanaFA.
