Mwalimu Rachel has cut ties with Gengetone group Sailors a year after cracks started emerging on their partnership.

The media personality discovered Sailors and was their manager for over two years before they fell out last year and the group found a new record label.

Last month the group accused the media personality of of denying them access to their YouTube channel, which had all their previous hit songs.

The ‘Wamlambez’ hit makers claimed that Mwalimu Rachel had demanded more than Ksh 1.5 million from the group before she could release the passwords.

Mwalimu Rachel however denied the claim saying that Sailors and their current management needed to pay her for her input in building and popularising their brand.

Sailors are back with an offering to their fans dubbed ‘Dunda’

Rachel has now made it official that she would no longer be booking Sailors for any gigs. She said her media company MRX Media will be focusing on introducing new talents.

“We are pleased to have played a major Role in the Building of the Brand and proud of our people in amplifying the voice of the Kenyan Youth. As we expand, Sailors 254 will no longer be represented by Us, and we cannot wait to introduce fresh, brilliant Talent to the world moving forward,” said Mwalimu Rachel in a post on Instagram.
