Internationally acclaimed musician and icon Prince born Prince Rogers Nelson is dead!
The purple rain hit maker, Prince died aged 57 years old.
The music legend and icon who defined music in the 80s was found unresponsive in an elevator at Paisley Park Studio in Chanhassen in Minnesota county.
Paramedics tried to resuscitate him and even tried a CPR on him but his heart gave out and was pronounced dead 10:07 am.
There will be an investigation surrounding his death with an autopsy already scheduled to be performed by Midwest regional medical examiner.
Many fans are flooding to buy his albums with singles like ‘Purple Rain’ he is sure bound to be immortalized forever in our hearts minds.
Fans have been remembering the life of Prince with purple-coloured tributes and dance parties, after the star died suddenly at the age of 57.
Buildings, newspaper front pages an d websites across the US and beyond have changed colour in his honour.
