Nairobi, Kenya – Digital content creator Kendrick Mulamwah has publicly refuted claims made by his ex-partner, Carol Sonnie, suggesting that they are co-parenting their daughter Keilah harmoniously.
In a candid video posted on his YouTube channel, Mulamwah, whose real name is David Oyando, asserted that he has no current relationship with Keilah, directly contradicting Sonnie’s statements.
“There is no need to go to Jeff and say ‘Mulamwah has a good relationship with his daughter.’ There is no relationship,” Mulamwah declared, referencing an interview Sonnie gave to YouTuber Jeff Kuria.
Mulamwah expressed deep disappointment over not having seen his daughter since she was four months old, challenging Sonnie’s portrayal of their co-parenting situation.
He emphasized his strong desire to connect with Keilah but claimed his efforts were hindered by Sonnie’s actions.
“You have sent me letters demanding sole custody, yet out here I am being called a deadbeat. There is a lot. Unless we all ease up, everything will flow,” he stated, highlighting the ongoing rift between them.
Reflecting on the time that has passed, Mulamwah shared, “I haven’t gone there in years. If you see me with the baby, know things are OK, if not…”
His remarks underscore the estrangement he feels from his daughter and the complexities of their co-parenting dynamic.
Mulamwah’s public response was triggered by Sonnie’s interview with Kuria, during which she described her baby daddy’s relationship with Keilah as “OK”.
Pressed by Kuria to elaborate, Sonnie laughed and asserted, “My relationship with my daughter is perfect. His relationship with her is sawa,” using a Swahili term for “fine.”
However, Sonnie’s lack of specificity left viewers questioning the true nature of Mulamwah’s involvement in Keilah’s life.
Mulamwah’s video sought to set the record straight, presenting a starkly different perspective on their co-parenting arrangement.
As Keilah approaches her third birthday this September, the public dispute between Mulamwah and Sonnie continues to unfold, with both parties offering conflicting narratives about their roles and responsibilities as parents.
The controversy highlights the challenges and emotional turmoil often associated with co-parenting disputes.
