Kenya is mourning yet another Mugithi Maestro Mureithi John Walker.

His death officially got announced to the world by the legendary radio presenter and Inooro FM presenter Jeff Kuria.

Jeff Kuria shared with fans the sad news of the sudden death of one of Mugithi’s finest musicians.

“Popular Mugithi musician Mureithi John Walker died this morning. Condolences to the family and his fans Rest In Peace,” he wrote.

The presenter didn’t disclose any further news about what might have transpired and caused the death of Mureithi John Walker. For now, his cause of death hasn’t been established and/or made to the general public.

“I am saddened to learn of the passing of Muriithi John Walker. Walker was a talented musician, a leading light of the Mugithi genre and a firm fan favorite. He has left us the gift of his music and for that we are grateful. May he rest in peace.” Deputy President William Samoei Ruto mourned the legendary Mugithi musician.

Mureithi John Walker was among the many musicians who were entertaining Kenyans on their social media platforms, especially Facebook during the Covid-19 pandemic which saw gigs dwindle due to the strict government restriction.

Mureithi John Walker who cumulatively has over 2.2 million views on his official YouTube channel boasts of over 13,000 subscribers.

Among his numerous hit records, the ones that will forever be considered classics are ‘Nyau iriaga mbia’, ‘Uhiki wi Murio’, and ‘Andu Mathimwo’.

His estate is yet to make an official statement about the funeral arrangement.
