Moses Kuria approached media personality Janet Mbugua and offered her a chance to be his running-mate for Kiambu gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming August 9th general election.

The Gatundu South MP is vying for the Kiambu governor seat on Chama Cha Kazi ticket, Kutia’s party is allied to deputy president William Ruto.

The constitution requires candidates vying for governor seats to nominate their running-mates to contests on a joint ticket.

Moses Kuria approached Janet Mbugua to be his running-mate but the former Citizen TV anchor politely turned down the lucrative offer.

“Thanks @HonMoses_Kuria for considering me capable to serve Kiambu County as Dep Gov. Indeed, active engagement in politics isn’t for me at the moment. I remain available in support of quality service to the good people of Kiambu & all of Kenya, more so vulnerable women & girls,” wrote Janet Mbugua.

Kuria didn’t take it lightly that Janet Mbugua turned his offer down. The Gatundu South MP said he was heartbroken by the decision by the celebrated media personality.

“I am shattered. After scoring the highest marks in the talent search for Kiambu Deputy Governor, Janet Mbugua will not be taking up the job due to unforeseen personal emergencies that she has to attend to in the immediate term,” Moses Kuria tweeted.

He added that;

“My administration will definitely find a way to benefit from @OfficialJMbugua experience and capacity in the future. I feel the loss. Janet is a huge inspiration for the youth, for professionals, for women and for young mothers of this country”
