Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho was prevented by police from attending President Uhuru Kenyatta’s function in Likoni.

Joho was instead held at his office until the president completes his rally,

Now Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo has said that the detention of the governor in his office is undemocratic and should not be allowed in present day Kenya.

Joho had indicated that he would attend the re-launching of the Mtongwe Ferry in Likoni by Uhuru but police, under orders, prevented him at the Nyali Bridge from accessing the mainland.

The governor, who has had a face-off before with Uhuru over projects in the county, had indicated he would use the function to clear the air on the attacks he received from Uhuru and other Jubilee leaders on Saturday, March 11, at Jubilee rally in Tononoka Grounds.

Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo, another controversial figure in the opposition, has criticised Uhuru for the events involving Joho.

Millie said that the detention of the governor in his office is undemocratic and should not be allowed in present day Kenya.

“Ati Uhuru wants Joho arrested so that he can not attend a public function? Which year is this? Undemocratic tendencies shall not be allowed in Kenya even when laden with abuses from Head of State himself,” Millie said.

The MP is remembered for losing her cool and abusing Uhuru while in parliament late 2016.

Millie caused a stir when she labelled the president profanities. Now she claims such acts on Joho are the reason she will abuse him even more.
