Genge rapper Mejja has announced his intention to join the youth in the upcoming protests against the controversial Finance Bill 2024.

Mejja shared his commitment to the cause through his Instagram page, where he expressed his determination to stand in solidarity with the protestors.

Mejja, who was unable to participate in Thursday June 20, 2024 demonstrations due to unavoidable responsibilities with his son, assured his followers that he would be present for the protests scheduled for Tuesday.

His decision comes in response to the tragic death of a young man named Rex, who was allegedly shot by police on Thursday evening while returning home after opposing the Finance Bill.

“Jana sikuweza juu ya mtoi but Tuesday 25th ni kitambi na teargas. Damu ya Rex haiendi hivo RIP ni mgenge na mbogi,” Mejja said.

Mejja is one of many celebrities who have vocally rejected the Finance Bill, which has been met with widespread criticism and opposition from the public.

The bill, seen by many as an unjust financial burden, has sparked significant unrest and led to mass protests.

On Thursday, a notable number of Kenyan celebrities, influencers, and content creators took to the streets to voice their opposition to the Finance Bill.

Prominent figures were seen holding placards and joining the public in their outcry against the government’s decision.

The protests are a reflection of the growing discontent among Kenyans, particularly the youth, who feel that the bill imposes undue financial strain.

Mejja’s participation is expected to amplify the message and draw further attention to the cause.

As the protests continue, the call for the government to reconsider the Finance Bill 2024 grows louder.

Mejja’s commitment to join the demonstrations underscores the unity and resolve among Kenyans to oppose what they see as an oppressive measure.
