Genge rapper Mejja is the latest musician to express his frustrations with comedian Eric Omondi over his controversial music advocacy.
Eric has rubbed several musicians the wrong way while advocating for more airtime for Kenyan music on local TV and radio stations.
The comedian insists Kenyan musicians are lazy and need to pull up their socks even as he demands local media stations to play 75% Kenyan songs.
Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Vincent Mboya, Mejja wondered how Eric has the audacity to lecture musicians about music yet he is a comedian and not a musician.
The rapper compared Eric’s music advocacy to a smokie vender lecturing a matatu driver about what they ought to do with their vehicle.
So mi naona hio ni ufala,” Mejja said.
Reacting to Mejja’s interview, Eric wrote; “Weweeee!!! wekeni Lights kwa Nganya zenu…Nganya za Nigeria zinapiga ma LAP hapa kwenyu zikibeba ma Abiria wenyu. Ngaya zenyu haziwezi.”
