Mejja speaks on a famous Kenyan musician denying him a collabo despite working with him for free

Mejja getting denied a collabo by a Kenyan musician comes as a shock to you as it is to the next guy who knows anything about the celebrated Gengetone, and Genge artiste thanks to his reputation.

Without mentioning names, Mejja hinted at the musician who gave him a cold shower after he asked for his vocals. Apparently, the musician was in Tanzania when he asked for his vocals by Mejja.

He turned down Mejja’s plea of wanting to work with him on the ‘Karibu Kenya’ hit song. The Gengetone and Genge sought-after musician said that the record was born out of frustration after the aforementioned artiste –who will remain anonymous for now– refused to work with him on the record.

“Wacha nikuambie joh, hiyo ngoma nakumbuka ile time ndio nifikirie hiyo vibe, nilikuwa juu ya mavela.

Wacha nikupatie story ya hii track, so nikatumia, wacha nikuambie, si unajua nimefanya collabo na wasee na mi sikuwa nalipisha msee kitu.

So one of the people wenye nimefanya collabo nao, nikawatumia track nikamshow si uniweke track nini nini, weuh! watu hawashiki simu, sikudanganyi, sitasema ni nani, asante ya punda. Hashiki simu nini nini, mimi nimeenda Tanzania tutaongea kesho, niko busy.

Kwasababu hiyo beat vile nilikuwa naskia ikikaa, hainikalii kama inataka rap chorus yaani. So nikasema ah! hii ngoma itakwama hivi, so niko tu mavela zangu, “karibu Kenya” nikaskia ndio hiyo. By the way ilikuwa out of frustration yaani,” Mejja said in part.

The song that was written and performed exclusively by Mejja is a song that has taken over the music industry by storm, breaking boundaries while at it. It’s actually the first Genge song that the former Prime Minister and Orange Democratic Movement [ODM] Party leader Raila Odinga has cosigned publicly.

“Mejja’s Tabia za Wakenya hit was playing somewhere this morning and it got me thinking it is true!: Masaa na mkenya lazima atachelewa lakini sherehe?!…..Our Musicians are really creative,” Raila Odinga praised the song on his social media accounts.

Mejja might not have mentioned the musician who snubbed him but wherever he is, he might be feeling some type of way after losing out on an opportunity of being a part of a timeless hit song that everybody within and without the country is feeling the hit song genuinely.

Mejja being as enigmatically sweet, and having a caring heart for a sought-after musician, he hasn’t exposed the musician who refused to work with him to this day despite him working with him on numerous projects without charging him a dime for features fees.
