meet Leyla who has won over hearts of millions with her voice

Leyla kenyan teen musician

She’s just 13 years old and she’s already a music phenomenal, I can only imagine what her future holds for her, at her age and she’s already hitting notes that most artistes, probably your favorite artiste can only imagine.

The fast-rising teen singing sensation was first spotted by Video Director Sammy Dee, was later recommended her to Peter Chuani (famously known as Dj Pinye), a veteran DJ, Producer and Talent Scout credited with spotting and nurturing top Kenyan musical talents like Octopizzo, and Elani. Fast forward, and Leyla’s debut single is finally here and it’s nothing short of amazing.

Leyla has got the whole country talking about her especially after her song dubbed ‘Wimbo Wa Historia’  got released a few days back, which is her debut record which appreciates the fallen Kenyan heroes who played a major role in enabling us to gain independence under The Permanent Presidential Music Commission who produced the record.

In short, the ‘Wimbo Wa Historia’ record is a masterful rendition of the famous Kenyan Patriotic song of the same name which was released over two decades ago.

Leyla showcases talent way beyond her years, both in the audio and video. She performs the song with great diction and vocal prowess. It is clear that Whitney Houston is her biggest musical influence.
