Tanzania Bongo Flava artist Maunda Zahir Zorro died on the spot after a saloon car she was driving collided head-on with a lorry carrying sand.
Zorro was the sister of the famous musician Banana Zorro. She is also the daughter of legendary Tanzanian musician Zahir Ally Zorro.
The late Tanzanian musician died in the horrid accident on Thursday, April 14th, 2022 while she was driving her Toyota Vitz.
Confirming the death of his sister, Banana Zorro said that the two of them were together on Wednesday night at a funeral and parted ways before Maunda got into the accident.
It’s not clear what caused the accident but photos show Toyota Vitz which Maunda Zorro was completely wrecked after colliding with the lorry.
The deceased was at one point of the brightest stars of Bongo Flava who was famed for songs such as ‘Nataka Niwe Wako’ and ‘Mapenzi Ya Wawili’.
Maunda Zorro is survived by three children.
Several Tanzanian musicians have been posting messages of condolence on social media following her death.
