Masauti does not need any introduction whatsoever since his reputation as a certified hitmaker and a sought-after hook master precedes him.
The singer who is synonymous to Mombasa County so much so that he has the county’s code 001 as a part of his moniker on his records has finally decided to give back by uplifting not one but two talented artistes who need all the help, they can get to make it big time in the music industry today.
The two upcoming musicians who are both from Mombasa County are the promising duo of Kigoto and Mercury and together, they’ve been taken under Masauti’s able wings.
Masauti has also released a song together with them which comes with an official music video. The song is dubbed ‘Hinde’, it’s a collaborative record from the trio.
Masauti noted that he looked on a lot of things before he decided to not only work with the duo of Mercury and Kigoto but to also mentor them musically as he intends to steer them into the mainstream music scene now that they are under him.
The ‘Kiboko’ hitmaker has made a name for himself over the years as one of the best vocalists Kenya has to offer who has been cosigned by Khaligraph Jones, Jalang’o, Aslay, Joho just to mention a few.
Throughout the years, he’s managed to see his dream of making it big in mainstream music come true which it’s a motivation and a push for him to continue pushing his craft with intention of becoming a household name in Africa as he is a name to reckon with in Kenya and East Africa region.
Masauti had some help coming up in the music industry from J Blessings, Tedd Josiah, Jalang’o just to mention a few and through their constant and persistent help, the singer who is now regarded as one of the best singers to have ever picked up a microphone to sing he has been able to surpass any plateau and expectations he had set out for him as an artiste. It’s safe to say that almost every music-savvy East African knows who Masauti is.
Masauti is trying to return the favor that he once received from people who saw the untapped potential in him, he wants to pay it forward through his new music proteges, Kigoto and Mercury and that might be one among the many reasons Masauti listed that made him become a mentor to the two talented musicians. He has other reasons that are legit professional reasons which show that he took his time to make sure that Kigoto and Mercury were really committed in making it big in the music industry.
“Hello East Africa, I introduce to you Kigoto and Mercury. These are youth from Mombasa, their vocals, ability, melodies, songwriting and personality is what pushed me to take them under my wings,” Masauti disclosed on the reasons why he chose to work with Mercury and Kigoto.
The talented singer/songwriter Masauti finally got to release the official music video for ‘Hinde’, a collaborative song which he did with his proteges, Kigoto and Mercury.
