Kikuyu gospel singer Mary Lincon has been awarded a YouTube Plaque after attaining a major milestone in her music career.
YouTube Creator Awards, commonly known as YouTube Play Buttons or YouTube Plaques, are a series of awards from YouTube that aim to recognize its most popular channels.
The YouTube Plaques are based on a channel’s subscriber count. When a YouTube channel reaches a specific milestone and is deemed eligible for a YouTube Creator Reward, they are awarded a relatively flat trophy in a metal casing with a YouTube play button symbol.
The trophies are of different sizes: each button and plaque gets progressively bigger with the channel’s subscriber count.
The Gold Creator Award was introduced in 2012, the Silver Creator Award in 2013 and the Diamond Creator Award in 2015.
Mary Lincon was awarded the Silver Creator Award after her YouTube channel grossed more that 100,000 subscribers.
“Thank you Lord for this milestone. It has not been an easy journey but through the support of my fans and the favor of God we have managed to reach 100,000 subscribers. Barikiweni sana,” Mary Lincon expressed her gratitude after receiving YouTube Silver Creator Award.
