Man who tried to extort Ksh 200,000 from Saumu Mbuvi’s baby daddy, Lamu senator Anwar Loitiptip, has pleaded guilty to the charge.
Jones Ochieng released a video of Lamu senator smoking shisha at a city restaurant after the lawmaker refused to be blackmailed.
Ochieng intended to receive Ksh 200,000 from Loitiptip after recording the senator and another woman smoking shisha in contravention of public health regulations.
Ministry of Health’s public health department banned the consumption of shisha in 2017, meaning it’s illegal to smoke shisha in Kenya.
The defendant was Wednesday February 17th charged at Milimani law courts, he pleaded guilty to the charge of extortion.
Ochieng’ confessed that he sent the video to the senator and demanded that he sends him Sh200,000 to bar its leakage but Loitiptip declined.
He then sent the lawmaker another video of his lady friend allegedly pleasuring herself in public at the restaurant and later shared the videos with blogger Edgar Obare after his extortion efforts failed and also posted them on social media.
Loitiptip and his lover reported him to the police on February 15. Ochieng has been remanded at the Industrial Area Remand Prison awaiting his sentencing on March 3.
The suit with Ochieng is not the only incident that saw Loitiptip make headlines this week, the Lamu senator has been accused of being abusive by his baby mama Saumu Mbuvi.
On Monday February 15th 2021, Saumu announced her breakup with Loitiptip during an interactive Q&A session with her fans.
