Maina Kageni opened up about his father while speaking on property succession battles in Kenya as recently seen with the family of late powerful minister John Michuki.
Michuki’s family members are embroiled in a bitter court battle as each is demanding an equal share of the late minister’s vast estate worth at least 10 billion shillings.
Speaking on Michuki succession battle, Maina Kageni revealed that his late date saved their family from similar drama because he wrote his will before his demise.
The Classic FM presenter revealed that his dad died when he was only 2 years old leaving him his property which he inherited when he turned 21.
“My dad died when I was two years old. Luckily for him, he left behind a will and after his death, it was entrusted to trustees. Immediately I turned 21, the properties were transferred to me,” said Maina Kageni.
Maina however faulted his father for leaving trustees in charge of his property, the Classic FM presenter says his mother ought to be have inherited the property the moment his dad passed on.
“My dad was guilty. Why did he not leave everything to my mother?” said Maina.
