Content creator Lydia Wanjiru has shared a deeply personal and emotional revelation about her late mother, leaving her and her family stunned.

The discovery came while Lydia was applying for a passport and had to present her mother’s death certificate.

It was during this routine process that she noticed unexpected details about her mother’s identity, including a third name she had never known before.

“I have always known… me and my mom have two names, I never knew she had a third name, Njogu, and who is this Njogu?” Lydia said, reflecting her surprise and curiosity.

Even more shocking to Lydia was information suggesting her mother might have had Luo heritage, something she had never been aware of.

“How is my mom Luo? My mom is not a Luo, she wasn’t a Luo,” she questioned, clarifying that she was not raising the issue to create conflict but to simply share what she had learned.

Lydia explained that she and her sister share a birthday with their late mother, a fact that also came to light during a phone conversation with her sister, adding another layer of emotional complexity to the discovery.

“Today I have been ignoring this feeling, let me just express it,” she wrote, capturing the mixture of surprise, reflection, and emotion the revelations had stirred in her.

Having lost her mother in 2002 when she was just a child in Class 2, Lydia said she prefers not to dig too deeply into her family history.

Still, these newfound details have prompted her to reflect on her mother’s life, identity, and the legacies passed down to her and her sister.

While the revelations were unexpected, Lydia emphasized that her purpose in sharing them is honesty and emotional reflection, not conflict.

Through her candid post, she invited followers to witness her journey of discovery, grief, and connection to her late mother in a way few have experienced.

“I am not saying this to fight this, I am just… I know her mom, and I know her dad. She died when I was in class 2. Of course, I was just a child,” Lydia explained.

The heartfelt disclosure has resonated with followers, highlighting the sometimes-surprising nature of family histories and the enduring impact of parents on their children, even years after they are gone.
