Omondi Long’lilo real name Erick Omondi Odit has sadly succumbed to cancer at the Bondo Sub-County hospital in Siaya county.
The celebrated musician who has numerous hits to his name like ‘Goretti Awino’, ‘Kong’o Shida’ and so many others has been ailing for quite some time now.
Omondi Long’lilo was 37 years old and he is survived by three children and a wife, Goretti Awino.
Earlier this year, there was a video that surfaced online showing the ailing Benga musician pleading for help from his loyal fans and friends all over the country to help him out to at least get back on his feet since he fell off from the music scene.
In a recent interview with Mirror Productions on YouTube exclusively, Omondo Long’lilo opened up about his equipments needing repair, lacking the finances to help him fix them and nobody coming to his help, especially the prominent people who he composed songs for.

Omondi disclosed in the interview that he had been having numerous problems one after the other since December last year.
“None of the people I have composed songs for has ever come out to help me, only some of my friends do. My biggest request is for all my other friends and those I sang for to stop running away from me, come to my rescue.” Omondi Long’Lilo disclosed.
Long’lilo’s death is a huge blow to the Luo music scene who has recently lost yet another celebrated musician Abenny Jachiga real name Benard Onyango Obonyo whose burial ceremony broke the internet and news outlets after his fans exhumed his casket after he was buried in secret.
