Media personality Lindah Oguttu is crying foul after Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) demanded that she pays Ksh2 million in tax arrears.
Oguttu, who stepped down from her job at KTN to join the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Caretaker Committee, said she would end up in jail if the matter is not resolved.
“System ya @KRACare says I owe 2 mirrions…..my friend ile mbio nimeenda nayo ofisi zao……lakini KRA can give someone a heart attack. Anyway, I am here…..let’s see where this will end. Mkuje mnitembelee jela pris,” Oguttu tweeted.

KRA has been cracking down on tax cheats in a bid to increase revenue collection as the cash-strapped government struggles to repay loans.
The tax man recently announced it would go after Kenyans who perennially fil nil returns when they transact a lot of money on M-Pesa and also have cash in banks.
KRA said taxpayers who have never submitted a Valued Added Tax (VAT) return and those who have consistently filed nil returns would not be allowed to file new or amended VAT returns.
