Lamaz Span KOB is sick and tired of all the Gengetone artistes who apparently sings about specific things.
The King of Boost rapper who happens to be Khaligraph Jones elder brother who actually introduced the OG to the rap game a couple of years back opened up about why Gengetone songs can’t go international despite the genre receiving a warm reception in the country speaking at the public TV’s show, The Trend on Friday.
“… You can not be singing about weed and twerking every time. Gengetone can be presented in a proper manner… ”
According to Lamaz Span KOB who isn’t afraid of any backlash he might get for speaking his mind said that it’s about time Gengetone artistes come together and start rapping/singing about something totally different apart from weed and twerking and take the genre to international standards.
“kama wewe ni artiste wa gengetone na unataka kunichukia, unichukie. You can not be singing about weed and twerking every time.” Lamaz Span KOB said in part.
Adding;
“Gengetone can be presented in a proper manner, itaskizwa kila mahali across the borders and everywhere. We cannot be singing weed from this song to that song and this song to that song. Uki-mute, zote ni the same. We can’t live like that. Ule unataka kunichukia, scorpion agongewe.”
Lamaz Span KOB becomes the first mainstream artiste to speak against the content the gengetone genre is putting out in the Kenyan music industry.
