KRG the Don recently discussed the closure of Casa Vera, his club located in the prestigious Kilimani area of Nairobi.
He revealed that the decision to temporarily close the establishment was due to the challenges of operating in the competitive Nairobi entertainment scene and the necessity for renovations to upgrade the club’s facilities.
During an interview on the Obinna Show Live, KRG explained that Casa Vera needed to undergo improvements to meet the evolving standards of entertainment venues in the area.
He compared managing a club to caring for a beautiful girl, emphasizing the need for constant attention and updates to keep the business appealing and competitive.
“We closed temporarily to make improvements, you know many clubs have opened in that area [Kilimani]. The club business is like a beautiful girl, there are new ones every day, so if you love her you must always take her back to the salon,” KRG said
One of the main difficulties highlighted by KRG was the transient nature of the club-goers in Nairobi. He noted that customers often move between different clubs rather than staying at one location for extended periods.
This behavior underscores the importance for clubs like Casa Vera to continuously innovate and enhance their services to attract and retain customers.
“The entertainment business is also very challenging because there are not many drunks in Nairobi, they are those they just go from one club to another,” KRG said.
KRG clarified that the opening of new clubs, such as the Quiver Lounge Kilimani branch, did not directly cause Casa Vera’s closure. Instead, he acknowledged the intense competition in the area, which prompted Casa Vera to reassess its strategies to maintain customer loyalty and relevance.
In summary, Casa Vera’s closure was driven by the need for renovations and the competitive challenges posed by the dynamic Nairobi entertainment industry. KRG emphasized the club’s commitment to adapting and improving to meet customer expectations and remain viable amidst increasing competition in Kilimani.
