Konshens has opened up to comedian Eric Omondi and chimed in on what the comedian is intending to achieve with his campaign.

Konshens was addressing Eric Omondi’s social media update where he was castigating the Kenyan promoters for always inviting international artistes and constantly overlooking the local talents despite the country having artistes like Khaligraph Jones, Otile Brown and Nyashinski who can as well pull a crowd as much as the international artistes can.

This is what Eric Omondo –who shared Konshens’ poster for his 31st December 2021 show that will be live at Carnivore– shared on social media with Konshens in mind:

“HONESTLY are we doing this BADLY? Is the State of our MUSIC Industry REEEEALY THIS BAD? I really have nothing against International ARTISTS my HEART is PROFUSELY BLEEDING for our INDUSTRY.

You HONESTLY want to tell me that a Khaligraph Jones, Otile Brown, Nyashinski CONCERT cannot pull Crowds on the LAST DAY of the YEAR.

I have no PROBLEM with Konshens. My Issue is our own MESSAGING!!! We are and have been KILLING OUR OWN!!! It’s all in the MESSAGING PEOPLE, MESSAGING is everything. SO next week KENYAN ARTISTS will be UNVEILED as CURTAIN RAISERS”

A few weeks ago, one week to the day, Eric Omondi also shared a screenshot of Konshens’s tweet about the potential of not coming to Kenya for a scheduled show, this was way before he confirmed his concert on 31st December 2021.

The Jamaican Dancehall legend Konshens reading what the sought-after comedian had to say about international artistes constantly coming to Kenya, had something to say.

Konshens who is booked for the 31st December 2021 concert at Carnivore says that Kenya is known for the positive vibes everywhere and that’s why most international artistes will always and probably forever choose Kenya to perform over any other place easily.

Konshens is more than ready and willing to have a sit-down conversation with Eric Omondi to know and probably understand where Eric Omondi is coming from because he believes there’s no way having international artistes in Kenya will dwindle the success of the local artistes.

“Blessing my friend. I find this very interesting. Many people are sending your words to me. Would love to sit down and hear what exactly your issue is, are you upset with international artistes for loving your country? Local artistes and promoters for not doing enough shows? Local fans for showing too much love to international artistes for not showing enough support locally? or what?” Konshens told Eric Omondi in part.

He went on to add;

“Nobody is trying to milk your country, your country just has a crazy love for all genres of music and a respect for artistry that’s why artistes love it there.”

Konshens disclosed that he had four offers for December 31st, 2021 but because of the love and appreciation and the crazy love and the vibe and the energy that he gets in Kenya, he decided to choose the Kenyan gig and turned down the other four gigs that were rather closer to his home.

“I had 4 offers for December 31st all way closer to my home and less of a hassle but I chose KENYA because of the ray vibe and energy there and I’m sure I can speak for other artistes to say nobody is broke at home waiting for Kenya to call lol, we just love your country and your people and they love us back,” Konshens went further to explain the reason why he loves Kenya.

Konshens urged Eric Omondi to be direct with what he truly wants in the music industry rather than using “Trump like” tactics and antics. He hopes that one day he will sit down and have a conversation with Eric Omondi if her’s in earnest and not in jest about what he’s talking about.

“You should be direct with what your real issue is instead of these “Trump like” tactics. Let’s talk one day. Or maybe you’re joking. But if you’re serious, let’s open a line,” his long response to Eric Omondi concluded.
