Outspoken Makerere University lecturer Professor Stella Nyanzi who is a diehard fan of embattle opposition leader, Kizza Besigye, is being evicted from her office.
According to Prof. Nyanzi, she is unfairly being evicted from her office Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR) because she refused to teach on MISR’s executive director’s PhD program.

Following up on my morning post, this evening I am sharing Mahmood Mamdani’s letter evicting me from my office at Makerere Institute of Social Research.
I appealed to the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance and Administration, who issued a letter of stay that I emailed to all MISR faculty, staff and students. I also hand delivered a letter to Mamdani’s Personal Assistant.
I was surprised to find an email this morning telling me that his eviction instructions still stand. This is the same man who gave a whole block of offices at MISR to his wife for her private film establishment after he abruptly terminated the short research courses that used to be conducted there.
Mahmood Mamdani is expelling me out of my office just like Idi Amin Dada expelled Asians out of Uganda. I refuse to be the sacrificial lamb to atone for Idi Amin’s evil. Power really gets to some men’s heads!
