Coming off a buzz from a high energy performance at the Best of the Best Music Fest in Miami, Florida on the same stage as dancehall stars Konshens, Alkaline, Dexta Daps, Spice, Barrington Levy, King Kanja and Chris Searcy have teamed up to release the brand new smash single ‘Weekend’ which was produced by the legendary Hip-Hop / R&B producer Chucky Thompson who has produced and worked with international artistes like Usher, Nas, P. Diddy, Notorious B.I.G, Faith Evans and many more well accomplished artistes.
King Kanja’s evolving style of music is very melodic, which makes him musically relevant. You can hear this type of music in hip hop with the likes of Drake.
The song has a very melodic dancehall feel that you can jam and whine to. As the song begins, the acoustics bring out an African vibe mashed up with a melodic dancehall tune.
