Rapper King Kaka (who is is an award winning artiste whose style of music is greatly influenced by the sounds of poetry. He is the celebrity Advocate for UNICEF Kenya and was a judge in the first season of Blaze’s ‘Be Your Own Boss’) has teamed up with Doing Her Thing Tho hit maker Fena Gitu for a massive hit, ‘Run Ting’.
The song has a feel good vibe to it that immediately captures you.
“The song is a happy one, watu wabambike! All in all it is letting everyone know who runs things. King Kaka runs things, Kaka Empire runs things Fena runs things.Things don’t run we!” says King Kaka.
Fena Gitu is an acclaimed Kenyan recording and performing artiste whose signature “Urban Soul” has earned her the moniker, Fenamenal Woman. She is known for her hit singles ‘Fenamenal Woman’ , ‘Brikicho’, ‘Doing Her Thing Though’, ‘Sema Ng’we’ , ‘Party Nation’, ‘Kama Kawaida’ among others. In 2014 she co-produced her album Fenamenon alongside Jaaz Odongo.
“I admire how Kaka Empire rules the airwaves and myself, Fenamenal taking my place in the industry as well, thus We Run Ting,” says Fena Gitu.
‘Run Ting’ is the first project that both King Kaka and Fena Gitu are working on together. Both artistes are open to working with each other on future projects.
“King Kaka had called me up for a different project and I believe he liked what I did on it, so he randomly sent me this beat and I loved it,” says Fena Gitu.
“Fena is an amazing Fenamenal woman. She is a great artiste to work with and I believe she is going far. There is a line on her verse she says, ‘They are mad over you vile unaRuntown’ very few people will get what that means,“ says King Kaka.
