3 mins read

Yesterday the hip-hop community in Africa was shocked after learning the demise of the veteran South African rapper HHP formerly known as Hip Hop Pantsula and passionately known as Jabba who helped push the envelope of making sure that hip-hop was commercial at least in South Africa.

South African rappers took the loss to the chin with condolences streaming in after HHP’s wife and publicist, Lerato Sengadi confirmed it on Wednesday.

HHP was suffering from depression and openly came forward to talk about how he attempted suicide three times in 2015 alone.

Kenyan rappers and record producer Provoke time to give their condolences to one of the people whoever did it with King Kaka not believing the news at all, having worked with him in 2014 together with Wangechi in the ‘Tulia Tu’ record through a connection with Buddha Blaze.

“Still in shock, Rest In Peace HHP, thanks for believing thanks for showing me it’s possible.

Let’s address depression, kindly talk to someone when you have an issue. Tulia Tu Jabba Man.” King Kaka posted on Instagram.

Provoke gave out the details of how they got to meet up with the late HHP, “On this day [referring to the photos he shared on Instagram]we met through @buddhablazeworld and the session was fire @thetimwork and I were the engineers that day. That’s when our friendship began ….. 2014 when doing the daraja walk… Damn!! Jabba!! I don’t think I will ever get over this.”

Khaligraph Jones sent condolences by sharing a photo of HHP and captioning, “Gone too soon, Rest In Peace Champ,” with Kevin Provoke adding immediately after he learned of the news, “JABBA!!! RIP king!! I have no words to say about our conversations and plans because they are too many to spill out”.

HHP might be gone but he will definitely not be forgotten, forever!

I love everybody who loves everybody, somebody got to love somebody at some point.
Music is something that comes natural to everybody and it's a language that everybody can understand, I understand it and that's why I speak it
fluently, do you.
