The song is about a man who has not seen his girlfriend in a while because she lives in Dar es Salaam while he is in Nairobi. King Kaka and Rich Mavoko have previously worked together on a song, Njoo and cultivated a good relationship since.
“Rich and i are good friends and we work well together. We recorded Lini when he had come to Kenya to shoot the video Njoo,” said King Kaka.
Lini was produced by Cedo and the video was shot in Dar es Salaam and directed by the talented Johnson Kyalo.
