Last year by far was the best year for King Kaka who not only got to meet and have a sit-down conversation with Bill and Melinda Gates who are the top richest people in the world, he also got to be interviewed by Ebro Darden, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez on New York’s Hot 97 radio together with American comedian and actor Tracy Morgan who has since become his close friend.
The same year, King Kaka also got to release his fifth studio album that had international collaboration from Talib Kweli, Romain Virgo and Tracy Morgan once again putting the Kenyan rap scene to the international scene as it should be.

It’s a given that the Kenyan hip hop realm has in the recent past become an interesting and healthy competition which has seen the genre getting mainstreamed making rap artistes to earn a hefty living from endorsements, paid shows and even album and record sales(though it’s not as it is supposed to be just yet). That being said, King Kaka has made it even more competitive for the rap game in the country after working with established international artistes and his recent collaboration with one of the hardest, baddest, lyrically King and well respected rapper alive today and arguably the King of Battle Rap, Cassidy and if nothing else this only cosigns his legitimacy of naming himself the King of Kenyan rap. It’s clear, King Kaka is walking the talk.
“Cassidy and I wanted to take fans back to the 00’s hip hop that is all about having a good time with rhymes and beats that get you grooving. I had an amazing time working with the super talented Cassidy” – King Kaka
What you need to know is that Cassidy who has worked with not only R. Kelly on his hit record ‘Hotel’ but also worked with Jay Z, Swizz Beatz, Mashonda, John Legend, Lil Wayne and Fabolous is that he just don’t work with any other artiste in the game, before he gets to work with you, you best be one if not the best in what you do, be it a singer, rapper and/or record producer and since he has worked with King Kaka on his latest record dubbed ‘Fly Away’ what does that tell you about King Kaka.
King Kaka and Cassidy take their fans back to feel good hip hop accompanied by catchy vocals from Brian Nadra.
Cassidy came through with a dope verse that complimented King Kaka’s killer verse. In the video, shot in Atlanta and directed by Hussein Njoroge, King Kaka is seeing having a good time with revelers; playing into the theme of being far away from life’s troubles.
