The Nairobi governor Dr Evans Kidero has protested bitterly to the ODM party over what he says is a wider scheme to have him locked out of the race to carry the party flag in his re-election bid.
In a letter dated 7th September and addressed to the party acting secretary general Agnes Zani, the former Mumias Sugar company CEO accuses Mohammed Junet who is the ODM director of elections of planning to influence the out come of party nominations next.He further lamented about the carelessland casualty with which such a serious party matter is discussed.
The governor claims Junet who is also Suna East member of parliament made the statements in a company of Jubilee lawyer at Tritora restaurant.
“Hon Mohamed, made statements that have left me gravely concerned with the lack of integrity in the manner in which issues concerning our party (ODM) are handled,” he said.
He added on to claim that Hon Junet swore that he will not be the party candidate for the Nairobi gubernatorial post.
“Hon Mohamed loudly swore to those who were seated with him and within the hearing of the entire restaurant that, I will not be a candidate since the party has already decided to deny me the party ticket,” Kidero said.
Kidero is on a re-election campaign and is highly expected to battle it out with Jubilee candidates. So far Jubilee has five candidates eying the seat including Nairobi senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko and Dagoretti North MP Dennis Waweru.
