Khaligraph Jones has pleaded with music promoters not to send fellow musician Bien-Aime Baraza to the UK to perform at concerts.
According to the Kayole-born rapper, Bien would refuse to return to Kenya if he gets another opportunity to travel to London.
The ‘Yes Bana’ hit rapper made the request following the reports of a young Nigerian artist Small Bado who allegedly refused to return to his country after being sent to the UK to perform at a concert.
According to reports, Baddo is said to have run away after performing and later sent the promoter a message via WhatsApp informing him that he does not feel like Nigeria is home. The event is reported to happen in 2021.
“A small Nigerian artiste, Small Baddo was taken to England for a show by an event promoter, and after the show he ran away. The young artist wrote to the promoter of the event on WhatsApp telling him that he will not return to Nigeria because “Nigeria is not his!” a report by Music Base Africa said.
The report also showed that the promoter, Billyque B, was fined 60000 pounds (Ksh 10.8 million) following the incident as Baddo’s British Visa had expired.
“The promoter’s license to bring other Artists to the UK may be revoked if Small Baddoo does not appear. The promoter of the event has already been fined £6000 as Small Baddoo’s UK visa has expired,” read the report.
Billyque is said to have asked for help from people to help him find the young artiste to bring him back to Nigeria.
Reacting to the news about the missing Nigerian musician, Khaligraph jokingly cautioned UK promoters against booking Bien to perform in Britain saying he would refuse to go back.
“Bro? Please don’t take Bien to London again, he will not come back,” Khaligraph commented.
In a quick rejoinder, Bien said London was the home of his wife Chiki noting that going there was just like traveling upcountry.
“Ngombe wewe. London ni kwa akina Chiki huko ni ushago kwetu na wife. Wewe Mr. Kayole ndio wanafaa kunyima visa,” Bien wrote.
