4 mins read

Khaligraph Jones is ready for 2020 and he can’t wait for the new year so that he can release hits after another and he already has his 2020 prepared already.

The Kayole rapper vowed to take over 2020 so much so that he wants to get that BET nomination so that he can show the entire world what Kenyan hip hop scene is made of and nothing is stopping him thus far.

Allegedly, the ‘Omollo’ hitmaker already has over 20 recorded songs with uncorroborated number of music video ready for release and the best part of it all is that both these unnamed, unreleased records are scheduled to be released later on next year, 2020.

Best to say that the year 2020 is the year that the world knows who Khaligraph Jones is all about since arguably he has surpassed the African continent in domination, pretty much all music and rap enthusiasts from Africa knows who Khaligraph Jones is and what he’s all about.

The rapper Khaligraph Jones real name Brian Robert Ouko Omollo took to social media to share a sneak preview of his upcoming record dubbed ‘Diabetes’ that he wrote for his late dad who died in 2012 aged 53 years old.

On the short clip, Khaligraph Jones’ raps opens up about how his uncles from his dad’s side who his late dad helped didn’t even show up for the funeral, how they had it rough when his father died leaving them behind with huge debt to settle even at one time they were evicted from their house where they used to live in because their father wasn’t in the picture.

This made the family to move to Dandora to start from scratch.

“This song Is Called Diabetes, I will drop it in January, Its a letter To My Old Man, The Late Omollo Senior (1959-2012)”

Khaligraph Jones captioned the clip of the sneak preview of ‘Diabetes’ record he shared on social media.

najua imekuwa siku kadhaa before mimi na wewe tuchapiane
I hope unaskia
ulituwacha bila kutuaga
mpaka wa leo bado naumia
nikiwa solo mi hucheza chini
sitaki waone gangster analia
na nime-gather guts za kutosha
so kuna vitu nataka kuambia
day ulipass ulituwacha pambaya
deni za duka na rent arrears
landlord alinichuja kwa keja
dispite kujaribu kujitetea
nilijaribu kumskiza umededi
lakini bado walining’orea
akadai ka hakuna doh ninampea
then hakuna kitu tunaongea
ikabidi tumeanzia scratch
tukahamia dandora
and even though it wasn’t much
bado tulimshukuru Mola
ulituwacha kama hatujajipanga
kifo yako ilikuja na visanga
ulituwacha kama tumesota
kidogo tushindwe hata kukufanyia matanga
wale ndugu zako ulisaidia
imagine mazishi hata hawakukuja
ile shamba ulikuwa nayo huko Bondo
pia naskia ni ka iliguzwa
after upass ilikuwa tu ni pain
vitu ziliacha kuwa the same
just know that we miss you dad
and I really hope I will see you again

Khaligraph Jones promised to release the same record in January, which is actually a fortnight away.

I am a Pan-Afrikanist to the core and love to let the world know what they are missing in Africa. I might do that through music and some interesting posts from time to time so please bare with me.

I will always be real though, that's a guarantee.
