Khaligraph Jones has made history by being the first Kenyan rapper to get nominated in the internationally acclaimed BET Awards.
This isn’t only a win for Khaligraph Jones but also a win for the entire country because he’s representing the Kenyan flag with this nomination and for the first time as a rapper in the same category.
The Kayole born and bred rapper has been nominated in the category of ‘Best International Flow’ against fellow internationally acclaimed rappers in the hip hop game.
Khaligraph Jones who is planning on taking over the South[South Africa] after conquering West Africa has been nominated alongside, Nasty C[South Africa], Stormzy[UK], Djonga[BRAZIL], Kaaris [FRANCE], Meryl [FRANCE], and Ms Banks [UK].
Just like in the matrix, Khaligraph Jones saw all this playing out in his head and being one of the most respected, well-known, sought-after, versatile, and best hip hop artiste from Africa in this generation and he even wrote a song dubbed ‘Open Doors’ jumping on Wizkid’s ‘Ojuelegba’s beats.
Today, Khaligraph Jones is an AFRIMA, AFRIMMA, and Soundcity MVP Award-winning rapper being the only rapper in Africa to have the three pan-African awards at the same time in a long time.
There’s no denying that Khaligraph Jones has helped put the Kenyan hip hop scene on the international and regional map and indeed through him, he’s proven that “the East has something to say”.
Being one out of the two only African rappers nominated in the category, fans in Africa are waiting to see who will be crowned the best rapper in Africa between Khaligraph Jones and Nasty C.
