Khadija Kopa has revealed that she is also in the dark about the nature of her daughter’s relationship with Diamond Platnumz as the two have not fulfilled the necessary rites.
Speaking to Wasafi Media, the veteran Taarab singer noted that Diamond had not fulfilled the necessary cultural steps to make his relationship with Zuchu official.
Zuchu’s mother explained that according to their cultural practice, a person is officially recognized as being in a relationship with a woman only after fulfilling certain rites such as dowry negotiations.
“Mahusiano yake siyajui. Mahusiano tunayojua sisi wazee wengine kwa utaratibu wa utamaduni weu ni mtu akija kuposa,” Khadija Kopa said.
The veteran singer further dismissed those who have persistently been asking her about her daughter’s relationship with Diamond, stressing that Zuchu was in a better position to respond to those inquiries.
“Lakini mahusinao ya nje siyajui. Anajua mwenyewe so muulize yeye. Ila bado hajaposwa, hakuna mahari,” she said.
Khadija Kopa further called on other suitors to shoot their shots at Zuchu, noting that Diamond had not married her daughter and that she was ready to receive dowry payment from a serious man who wants to settle down with the ‘Sukari’ hit maker.
“Mtu ana pesa yake aje. Yeyote tu. Simba hajamuoa wala hajaleta mahari na wala si mchumba wake. Mtu yeyote tu anaweza kuja,” Khadija Kopa said.
