Kenya rugby players yesterday touched down at JKIA bringing home the first Main Cup trophy they won at Singapore 7s.
Kenyans were happy to welcome Shujaas back home but insults started flooding the national carrier Kenya Airways after rugby players were flown in by Qatar Airways.
Kenya Airways is the official sponsor of Shujaa and Kenyans expected the national carrier to fly in rugby players from their outing in Singapore.
Kenya Airways CEO Mbuvi Ngunze was however quick to enlighten Kenyans that Qatar Airways had a contract with World Rugby.
The contract stipulates that Qatar Airways is the official carrier for all teams in IRB series thus they teams won’t fly other airlines.
