Veteran musician Kenrazy bitterly complained after comedian YY referred to him as a washed-up rapper whose value had depreciated so badly that he is only tagged along by other artistes to perform at cheap shows.
Speaking during an interview with Plug TV, YY said that rappers Timmy Tdat and Kenrazy were to musicians to hire to perform at cheap a gig.
He joked that he could get Timmy Tdat and Kenrazy to perform at a meagre Ksh40,000.
“Kama tusipokuafford si ntaita Timmy Tdat na atakuja mbaka na Kenrazy na 40k,” YY said.
Kenrazy issued a statement complaining bitterly after YY joked about his rate card.
The ‘Tichi’ hitmaker lamented that YY’s sentiment had decreased his value as a musician and further caused him severe pain.
“I don’t appreciate you mentioning me in a statement that decreases my value in front of the whole nation. I’ve been working hard to build my craft daily and work so siezi accept such statement coming from a person like you. Mimi sipenzi hizo ujinga bro. And if you want us to go there hautapenda hata kidogo. Just be sincere umenikosea sana coz of all the people I thought you know better. You trash my business and brand out of nothing just to trend! Really bro? Never drag my name into such stuff. You see me work daily with no favors or nothing from this industry and still raising a family for all those years so ukinitrash hivo, it’s so unacceptable in all ways. Umenikatisia sana,” Kenrazy said.
Responding to Kenrazy’s statement, YY expressed his sincere apology.
“I really apologize my brother Kenrazy for how this made you feel, for how it looked, for how it perceived you,” YY said.
Kenrazy in a quick rejoinder told the comedian that his apology was accepted.
