Kenny Kaburu says, “When opportunities arise, Baba (Raila Odinga) picks family members. For mass action he calls on me and you.”
Social commentator Kenny Kaburu describes himself as hyper-opinionated and nuanced, he enjoys writing political and advocacy commentary.
He is also an expert in strategic communications.
Raila Odinga will lead Azimio La Umoja supporters at Kamukunji to debate their way forward as the opposition team.
Kenya’s agenda for the rally as communicated earlier will be to spill the beans on what happened during the elections, the suspension of the four IEBC commissioners, tough economic conditions that are hitting Kenyans hard, inequality is government appointments e.t.c.
Kenyans online, have requested Raila Odinga to make sure his children are at the fore today; just in case the rally turns out chaotic for them to have a taste of how it’s like to be a supporter of Jakom.
There are many citizens who also feel, Raila’s children are adults and they have a right to decide whether they show up at Kamukunji or not.
Raila Odinga has been fighting for human rights and justice for decades now. He’s adored and respected worldwide for his efforts toward keeping governments in check.
He did it with the late President Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki, he managed to with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, to the extent of forcing a handshake.
The big question now is, will he manage the same with his friend and former partner, President William Ruto?
Anyway, via his Facebook account, Kenny Kaburu argues out his opinion saying:
“When opportunities arise, Baba picks family members. For mass action he calls on me and you.”
Already, Baba’s elder brother Oburu Odinga is the imposed Senator, Siaya while his sister Ruth Odinga is the imposed women Rep for Kisumu.
The daughter Winnie Odinga is an imposed EALA MP. Last week, Azimio nominated Raila’s nephew Dr George Jalang’o Midiwo to the membership of the Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) after he missed the EALA seat.
I hold no brief for the current government and I pray for strong opposition to keep it on check, but it seems just like the last term, the opposition is up for grabs by the highest bidder and Kenyans will yet again miss the critical oversight.
Before Baba handshook President Uhuru Kenyatta and him and his cronies co-opted into government, he never saw the need to call us for Kamukunji for consultation.
But today, Baba wants us all at Kamukunji so that he can consult us. In essence, he hopes the demos will precipitate some tension, and our numbers will scare the government into some form of compromise handshake to absorb him and his friends into government til the next election.”
