The former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende came forward cautioning Kenyans about voting Deputy President William Samoei Ruto as their next President come 2022 Presidential elections.

Marende was speaking during a Church Service on Sunday, 19th September 2021 where he stressed that Deputy President William Ruto has been derailing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development agenda that he promised when he was elected to do with his greed and ambitions of his own.

“If we elect thugs or thieves, things will not change. Hyena is a Hyena and he never changes. If we look at those contesting for the presidency, there are those who have had an opportunity to serve. Even in this government of Uhuru,” he said in part.

Kenneth Marende was quick to note that President Uhuru Kenyatta has good intentions for the country but sadly, there are few people who are working for him who are in the government for their personal interests/gains.
“President Uhuru [Kenyatta] has good intentions for the country, but sometimes, those who work with him have personal interests,” he went further.

He amplified what Governor Granton Samboja told delegates in Raila’s ‘Azimio la Umoja’ event held in Mombasa on Saturday about Deputy President choosing 7 Cabinet Members from the same community.

” There are those who were given the opportunity to suggest cabinet members in 2013, they went further and selected people from their tribes. Up to 7 Ministers, they only selected from their community. Why do you think that person is going to change if you make him President tomorrow? he won’t change because his thinking is about tribalism,” Kenneth Marende said without mentioning DP Ruto’s name in the viral video.

The former Kenneth Marende strongly urged Kenyans to vote wisely by not voting Deputy President as their next President because he will not change reiterating that Kenya deserves better.

Kenneth Marende who is ranked among the top best speakers in Kenya endorses ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi for President come 2022.

Marende served as the speaker of the National Assembly during the Grand coalition government
