Katumbi has broken her silence following public backlash over her recent fallout with musician Kasolo, a situation that sparked heated debate among fans and followers—particularly supporters of Stephen Kasolo, some of whom have been attacking her in the comment sections across various social media platforms.
After a series of cryptic posts and one lengthy Facebook statement that has since attracted widespread reactions online, the outspoken journalist addressed the controversy by reaffirming her commitment to professional journalism and ethical reporting.
In her post, Katumbi made it clear that her role as a journalist is not to take sides, but to create space for dialogue. “As a journalist, I want to make something very clear: my responsibility is to report, listen, and provide a platform for voices to be heard, not to take sides,” she wrote.
She stressed that journalism must remain impartial, adding, “Journalism, at its core, must never be biased. My work is guided by principles of fairness, balance, and integrity, regardless of personal opinions or public pressure.”
She further explained that featuring someone on her platform should not be interpreted as support for their views or opposition to others. “Interviewing someone does not mean endorsing them. Giving a platform to one person does not mean standing against another,” Katumbi stated, noting that journalists should not be attacked for engaging with perspectives that may be unpopular or uncomfortable. “Journalism is not about comfort; it is about truth, dialogue, and understanding different perspectives, even the difficult ones.”
Addressing accusations and online criticism, Katumbi maintained that her work has never been driven by hostility or personal attacks. “I have never fought anyone, attacked anyone, or encouraged hostility,” she said, adding that a free and responsible press should encourage conversation rather than “silence, intimidation, or division.”

While standing firm on her professional principles, the presenter also acknowledged the emotions of Stephen Kasolo’s fans and issued an apology to anyone who may have felt hurt or offended by her work. “I also want to sincerely apologize if my work has unintentionally hurt any fans or supporters of Stephen Kasolo,” she wrote. “If bringing someone you oppose onto my show, or allowing them to speak their own words, caused pain or discomfort, I acknowledge those feelings. That was never my intention. My goal has always been to inform, not to harm.”
Katumbi concluded by reaffirming her commitment to ethical journalism, respectful dialogue, and accountability, urging the public to assess her work based on professionalism rather than assumptions or perceived affiliations. “I ask only that my work be judged on its professionalism and purpose, not on assumptions, emotions, or affiliations placed upon me,” she wrote, thanking those who continue to support honest journalism, even when it proves challenging.
