Katapilla and Hassan who are the two fourth of the phenomenal rap group Afrocentric together with Chumba and John Mo’re have released a record together dubbed ‘Icon’ which pays homage to the best of the best artistes in Kenya who ever did it the best in the music industry.

Katapilla made a statement last year as one of the best promising rap artistes in the game late last year so much so that he got a cosign from Khaligraph Jones which made him to be a part of Khaligraph Jones’ ‘Khali Cartel 2’ where he impressed and made a name for himself, while Hassan made a huge statement on Kapella’s ‘Exclusive Cypher 2’ early last month to prove he is a rapper that deserves a piece of the hip hop cake in the country.

There’s no doubt how Katapilla and Hassan are completely talented rappers in the rap game today and the best thing about them, they are making the hip hop scene even more competitive thus rappers will ante up their game.

In their collaborative ‘Icon’ record, these two rappers pays homage to the best of the best rappers and musicians in the country like Bamboo, Petra, Nazizi, Nyashinski, King Kaka, Khaligraph Jones, Jimwat, Sauti Sol, Cannibal, Prezzo, Kalamashaka, Kleptomaniax, Nyota Ndogo, Lady S, Nameless, Jua Cali, Mejja, Kayvo Kforce, Ukoo Flani, Nonini, Juliani, STL(Stella Mwangi), Static, Chiwawa, Abbas Kubass, and E-Sir to mention a few, with Hassan going out of his way to give props to the Mzazi Willy M. Tuva for the contribution he has been giving to the artistes in the music industry.

In a nutshell, what Katapilla and Hassan are trying to say is that they are next rap icons in the music industry and with the way they are consistence and prolific, I can’t honestly see who can’t stop them. It’s only a matter of time before they blow up, majorly.

Music is something that comes natural to everybody and it's a language that everybody can understand, I understand it and that's why I speak it
fluently, do you.
