JAP candidate Aaron Cheruiyot was declared the winner of Kericho Senatorial by-election by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) who said Cheruiyot garnered 100,629 votes against Paul Sang’s 52,502.
Kanu refuted the results of the Kericho by-election saying JAP and IEBC doctored the results of the election in favor of Cheruiyot.
Kanu argues IEBC used geometric progression formula that multiplied every vote cast for the JAP candidate by a ratio of 1.5.
“The formula was used by JAP to generate data through a computer programme so that at any given time during the tallying exercise, the JAP candidate’s votes were constantly double those of the KANU candidate…The formula was to give the JAP candidate advantage.” Kanu Secretary General Nick Salat was quoted as saying.
Kanu released the results of Kericho by-election which it believes it’s the true reflection of what the people of Kericho voted.
Kanu declares Paul Sang as the duly elected Kericho Senator saying their candidate beat JAP’s with 88,33i votes.
Kanu says Paul Sang got 126,493 votes against JAP’S 38,162.
