Aisha Jumwa’s affair with bodyguard Geoffrey Otieno Okuto came into light during their prosecution, the two are facing murder charges over a man’s death in 2019.
The two are facing murder charges over their involvement in the killing of Ngumbao Jola, a 48-year-old-man, who was murdered in chaos that ensued during campaigns for a by-election in Ganda Ward in Malindi on October 15 2019.
In a pre-bail assessment report this October, the prosecutor told Mombasa Law Courts that Jumwa and her bodyguard’s relationship mutated into a romantic one over the years as they worked together. Otieno has been working as Jumwa’s PA and security manager since 2016.

The prosecution said that the Malindi MP divorced her first husband more than 20 years ago and had been in a stable relationship with her bodyguard for the past six years.
The prosecution also indicated that Jumwa’s bodyguard is married with two children, dismissing allegations that he separated from his wife Judith Awinja, whom he married in 2009.
The report further said that the two lovebirds have been living together for the past six years, indicating that Otieno stays at Jumwa’s house while in Malindi, and while in Nairobi he stays in Lavington estate.
Kiss FM presenter Kamene Goro does not take it lightly that Jumwa is dating a married man. She took a swipe at the Malindi MP while speaking on her show at the station.
“I am disappointed in Aisha Jumwa because the man she is dating already has a wife. My problem is that the duty to protect marriage is upon a man but most do not do that. If you wanted all sorts of ladies why get married?” Kamene Goro posed.
Kamene’s co-presenter Jalang’o however differed with her saying that Jumwa and Otieno were adults and as such their actions shouldn’t be a concern.
“Aisha Jumwa has all the instruments to know if her bodyguard is married or not. The relationship has been going on for six years so Aisha knew the guard is married, the bodyguard’s wife knew and so does everybody else. Who told you that Aisha and the bodyguard had not officiated their union?” said Jalang’o.
