Rapper Julius Owino Ooko alias Juliani on Monday, November 2nd served Jubilee Party with a demand letter for using his song without seeking his consent.

Jubilee Party used Juliani’s 2013 hit song ‘Utawala’ in a Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) promotion video without his consent.

The rapper wrote a demand letter through his lawyer Katee David of James T. Makori Advocates giving the Jubilee party 72 hours to admit liability for infringement of intellectual property rights.

“We also demand on behalf of our client that you admit liability for infringement of intellectual property rights in writing within the next 72 hours so that we can further engage you on quantum, should you chose to ignore this letter, we have unequivocal instructions from our client to institute mandatory legal proceedings against your party for damages both general and specific in a court of law,” the letter reads in part.

Juliani has now revealed that he is facing intimidations for threatening to sue Jubilee Party for using his song without consent.

In a tweet on Tuesday, November 3rd, Juliani said that he will not flinch in his quest to demand justice for infringement on his intellectual property.

“There is a lot people can take away from me, I won’t flinch. but you can’t take away, hijack my thoughts and my voice. twist it to fit your narrative,” Juliani tweeted.
